Summary
The MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING CO-OP will act as a key player in Rennscot’s OPERATIONS department. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and an eagerness to continue their education via hands-on practice.
Responsibilities
-
Support CNC machining operations
-
CNC programming of 3, 4, and 5-axis machines
-
Operation of machines with Haas controllers
-
Operation of machines with Heidenhain controllers
-
Recommend process improvements, aid in machine maintenance
-

Support 3D printing operations
-
Design of basic components to be printed
-
Operation of Markforged, Prusa, and Creality FDM printers
-
Operation of Formlabs Form 3 SLA printer
-

Support post processing activities
-
Operation of laser cutter/engraver (part marking, foam cutting, etc.)
-
Operation of vapor honing cabinet
-
Traditional deburring (hand files, sanding, etc.)
-

Manufacturing process planning
-
Creation of technical run descriptions for production parts
-
Creation of inspection plans and supporting 2D drawings
-
Design of fixturing (soft jaws, pallets, etc.)
-
Tooling selection
-
-
Consistently improve one's own knowledge and skills
Required Skills & Qualifications
-
Currently enrolled in manufacturing, mechanical, or similar accredited, four-year program
-
Proficiency in a 3D CAD system
-
Familiarity with various manufacturing processes with an emphasis on machining
-
Strong mechanical aptitude
Bonus Skills & Qualifications
-
Experience working with Fusion 360 and/or Inventor
-
Experience working with SolidWorks
-
Experience working with Haas CNC controllers
-
Experience working with Heidenhain CNC controllers
-
Experience working in automotive environment
-
Passion for the performance automotive industry
-
Experience working within aerospace, automotive, or medical device industries
